The British Investment Association released a Fund Communication Guidance
25 February 2019
On 20 February 2019, the British Investment Association (‘IA’) released a Fund Communication Guidance to help fund managers implement clearer communications with regards to investors and to provide a reference point in relation to evolving regulatory expectations. The Guidance is not mandatory but is aimed at providing a common framework and should be viewed as a starting point in order to help firms use consistent language in all of their fund documentation.
Overall and according to research conducted, it was found that investors would like the following:
- More accessible information;
- Less jargon;
- More short simple explanations;
- Use of precise terms rather than vague ones;
- Use of percentages;
- A coherent and well-articulated narrative;
- Layout improvements.
